Boolean Searches

How does using boolean search techniques help you find obscure topics, and narrow broad topics?

  1. A Boolean search helps narrow broad topics from ruling out certain sites, that don’t have accurate information. So you pretty much get your accurate information with out anything else on the side, including advertisement.

  2. It helps you find obscure topics by giving you all the info on that topic and then pick the info that’s you need. It also narrows topics by only getting the info for you pacific question or what info you need form the topic.

  3. Boolean searching helps you while looking for information because it allows you to block or expand your search. Often when you just type in what you are looking for, you get multiple things that you do not need. When you type in the words (and, not, or) it helps you narrow down your topics, or focus in on one specific thing.

Dylan- Boolean seraching is actualy a great thing, it helps you to get down into the invisible web where you can get useful information on a topic. the difference between boolean seraching and just using a search enigine is lots of time when you find a link that you believe will give you useful information it might not be accurate and chances are the site is trying to sells you something.
